Can I unblock Myspace?

myspace unblock May 28th, 2008

Yes you can, but not every free proxy will support it. It’s safe to say that myspace is the most common use of all these free proxy sites. It’s due to many students who would rather browse Myspace than listen to their boring teachers or do homework!

With demand comes supply. Our proxy list contains several free proxies that will support myspace 100% and keep everything fast.

Why does my work block certain websites?

work proxy May 28th, 2008

Because they want you to spend more time working, not surfing myspace and watching funny videos youtube all day long!

Your employer will usually hire or pay for the services of a network admin which will block the sites, based on the IP (internet protocol). A proxy will allow you to bypass this “block” and still load the site. Now, what happens when your work blocks a proxy site? You find another one! :-)

New proxy sites are constantly going up. A proxy in the eyes of your boss is like weeds that just never stop growing back. Network admins will often ban or block proxy websites but they can never keep up, especially not when hundreds of new proxy sites surface every hour.

Can you recommend me a web-based proxy?

web based proxies May 28th, 2008

Any proxy that we list on our homepage is web-based. We do not deal with proxies that require installation or anything of the sort.

Web proxies are great because they are typically free and very abundant. You can always find one that will allow you to unblock a specific website. We are working on being able to supply download-based proxies but they are usually not free.

Are UK proxies faster?

uk proxies May 21st, 2008

Only if you’re in Europe. The odds of a European proxy being faster for an American are quite slim. The closer you are located to the proxy server, the faster it will work for you.

Why do I need a UK proxy?

uk proxies May 21st, 2008

If you’re in the UK and trying to use an American or Canadian proxy server, it will load quite slowly. It’s always more beneficial to use a proxy site or server that’s near you.

A proxy server will download the blocked site, and then send it back to you for your viewing. Now imagine the downloaded files are at the other end of the world, of course it will take longer for you to get. If you’re in the UK, we recommend you try to find one “local” to you so you don’t spend 90% of the time waiting.

How do I view a blocked site from work?

work proxy May 21st, 2008

Pretty simple, find yourself a free proxy. All you need to do is enter the URL of the site you are trying to load on the proxy website and it should unblock you. The site will load a little faster, but that’s only because the proxy is downloading the content and sending it back to you.

Some proxies might not always work for you, but there’s quite an abundance of proxies so all you need to do is try a couple.

How do I know if the proxy is new?

You can’t really tell, but it shouldn’t matter. The bottom line is you simply want to unblock a website, right? New proxies tend to work better because they are undiscovered and will usually load much faster.

Most proxy lists will contain or feature the best and freshest proxies available. Please view our list of free web proxies if you are looking to unblock a website from work or school.

How do I unblock youtube.com from work or school?

youtube proxies May 21st, 2008

Most proxy servers can handle this but will restrict how many videos you watch, due to bandwidth issues. Your best bet is to have a couple free proxy sites handy if you’re looking to watch a couple videos.

Typical proxy sites will also load the videos quite slowly, but should still work in the end.

Are all web based proxies free?

free web proxy May 20th, 2008

A big majority, but not all. Many larger proxy sites have developed a very powerful proxy application and keep updating and charge month for access.

In most cases, web based proxies are free and you can access them for anywhere as long as you have an internet connection.

Do I need a fast proxy?

fast proxies May 20th, 2008

It’s always preferable. Most proxy sites are very slow due to the high traffic they are getting and depending how many sites the users are trying to unblock.

A proxy temporarily hosts the website for you. In other words, a web-based proxy downloads all the information, photos and flash you are trying to access and hosts it for you. If alot of people are using the proxy at the same time you are, you will notice a very low loading speed.

The good news is there’s a ton of proxy sites on the net and there’s always new ones going up and they’re fast.

My school blocked Myspace and Facebook

facebook proxy May 20th, 2008

This is pretty common, in fact you’re very lucky if your school hasn’t yet blocked any of the popular social networking sites yet. But of course with a demand comes a solution.

Most proxy sites on the net today are designed to unblock these sites. Some are better for advanced applications but you should be able to easily breakthrough your network and access these sites with a web proxy.

What’s the best proxy?

best proxy May 20th, 2008

It’s hard to say. Most proxy sites are similar and there’s thousands of these proxy sites. The key is to have a good updated list of sites to make sure none have been discovered by your firewall or system administrator at work or school.

Most proxy sites will act the same, but alot of them are slow due to lower end hosting and how much traffic the proxy is getting. New proxy sites will typically load faster until they are too popular.

What’s an anonymous proxy?

anonymous proxy May 20th, 2008

Every web proxy is anonymous and free to use. An anonymous proxy is a website which will allow you to access blocked content from your computer. A proxy will “hide” you and allow the blocked site to load correctly, as it normally should.

Web proxies are perfect when you’re not on your computer since you can access the URL from anywhere, and you usually don’t need to install anything. The process is fast, simple and efficient and there’s tons of new proxies going up daily to ensure you can always unblock your content.

Why do you need anonymous browsing?

anonymous browsing May 20th, 2008

You don’t always need it, but everyone has a right to anonymity and it’s getting harder to achieve these days on the internet, especially for average people. People always associate anonymity and online browsing with illegal or shady activities. It’s not always the case.

Anonymous browsing will often allow us to access sites which are otherwise restricted. Such as Myspace or Facebook at school or arcade sites from work. Network administrators are forced to block sites so students don’t waste time during class on such sites and of course also so employees don’t get paid to play games.

Web proxy websites allow you to still access these sites by breaking the direct link between you and the website and delivering the content to you. The process often slows down the delivery, but it’s still worth it and doesn’t cost you a penny!
